Ray has been Lead Chaplain to Bluewater since February 2012 and Lead Chaplain to KWM since Autumn 2013.

Ray has spent the last three years juggling full-time work with part-time studying to be a Methodist minister. In January this year Ray heard that he was being placed as a minister in the in the North Kirklees and Morley Circuit, in West Yorkshire. He will be moving there in mid-August.

At the Trustees’ Meeting in June Rt. Revd. James Langstaff, chair of Kent Workplace Mssion presented Ray with a card, a gift and good wishes from all involved with KWM. Bishop James thanked Ray for all he has done, those who he has supported and his advocacy for chaplaincy.

Ray replied that this was the start of what he felt was going to be a long goodbye, as he wasn't leaving until the end of July. Ray said that he felt it had been a blessing and an honour to be Bluewater chaplain.

On 9th July the North Kent Methodist Circuit bade a formal farewell to Ray and his wife Deb.

It was good to see that there were a number of people from KWM at that service, including Revd. Jacqueline Littlewood who took this photograph of Ray and Deb.

Former chair of Kent Workplace Mission, Alex Cameron, spoke about the recruitment of Ray and how much he has added to KWM and the wider ecumenical and inter faith work.

Deb worked as Team Support Coordinator for Kent Workplace Mission for just over a year (2012 – 2013).
We are most thankful for all that Deb put in place for KWM, including this website.

On 25th July the Bluewater Chaplaincy team organized a surprise farewell lunch for Ray at a local pub. Ray was pressed upon to say a few words, and the team presented him with a lovely gift.

(Once again, thank you to Jacqueline for the photograph).
