A Prayer for Chaplaincy
Lord, we bring our gift of chaplaincy and chaplains before you – it is our offering, and by faith and in love we know you will multiply what we bring.
Today we celebrate our brothers and sisters in Christ who have heard the call to ministry and chaplaincy and ask you to make straight paths – as you go before them.
We give thanks that across Kent there are many forms of chaplaincy, where hard work is being done to listen, to hear and respond to human needs, and help in human flourishing. We bring before you those who serve in ports, retail, prison, factories, high streets and care homes, and in various other places as chaplaincy grows.
We delight to serve you in the world and give thanks that we are supported and affirmed by KWM, who prepare the way, provide training, and links in a growing network of like-minded pioneers.
We ask that you strengthen us all, especially in times when we enter places of conflict and listen to difficult and personal stories. Guide our responses, protect our hearts and minds, that we may bring hope, healing and peace.
Through acts of love and service and through all the small things we do, we offer this to you to transform and redeem the world. Amen
